President of Junior Entreprise - Student-run consulting firm

In 2023, I led our Junior Enterprise, guiding 24 members through 12+ real-world projects. This role taught me how to turn strategy into action, unite a team around shared goals, and combine engineering insight with entrepreneurial drive, all while doubling our business activity in a single year.

Context and Mandate Objectives

In 2023, I was elected President of Mines Études et Projets, the Junior Enterprise of the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. Our organization, composed of 24 members, carries out around ten projects each year directly linked to the school’s academic programs, while offering students a hands-on immersion into the professional world. My goal was clear: to increase our revenue, professionalize our practices, and strengthen our visibility among companies and institutional partners.
My main motivation was to gain firsthand experience in all aspects of business management, within a stimulating and formative environment, surrounded by committed colleagues and friends. This mandate represented a unique opportunity to combine my engineering education with entrepreneurial skills.

Role and Responsibilities

As President, I led the organization on several fronts:

  • Defining and implementing the strategic roadmap, with the objective of significantly growing business activity
  • Designing an action plan and ensuring its execution
  • Leading and coordinating the team, while maintaining motivation and engagement
  • Negotiating and managing client relationships, from first contact to the follow-up of more than 12 projects throughout the year
  • Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with 5 companies and institutions
  • Representing the Junior Enterprise at 4 major professional and associative events

Achievements and Results

During my tenure, we doubled our business activity compared to the previous year, reaching a record turnover for our Junior Enterprise. This success was driven by:

  • Prioritizing high-potential projects, even when it meant setting aside opportunities less aligned with our vision
  • Implementing a targeted communication strategy that enhanced our reputation and the attractiveness of our services
  • Improving internal processes to facilitate teamwork across departments and increase efficiency in project management
